About the role:

As our founding Technical Artist, you'll be the one crafting the visual soul of Oto companions - shaping how they look, move, and feel. You'll work on art direction initiatives and dive deep into technical implementation, working with WebGL shaders, rendering systems, custom animations, and asset pipeline development using our in-house game engine to create immersive character experiences.

Your Canvas:

• Design and implement character models, rigs, and animation systems within our custom web-based game engine
• Create adaptive lighting and rendering pipelines that make characters feel naturally integrated with diverse web environments
• Build modular character systems that scale from simple 2D sprites to rich 3D companions
• Develop shaders and visual effects that enhance presence without overwhelming the browsing experience
• Establish the visual language and feel that makes our companions instantly recognizable and emotionally engaging
• Optimize assets and workflows specifically for web-based real-time rendering

You might be a great fit if you have:

• A passion for bringing characters to life through the perfect blend of art and technology
• Experience creating real-time 3D assets optimized for web performance
• Strong skills in modeling, rigging, and animation with tools like Blender, Maya, or similar

• Three.js experience strongly preferred—you'll be working extensively with web-based 3D

Your Canvas:

• Build performant game systems that run on ANY website without breaking functionality
• Create physics engines that understand and interact with arbitrary DOM structures
• Design character controllers that bring the interactivity of game characters into the browser
• Optimize WebGL rendering to support 100+ simultaneous AI companions without melting GPUs

Social Media Manager and Content Creator for Frisson Labs. You will regularly create and coordinate content on Instagram / TikTok promoting Oto.

3-month contract at $35-50/hour with the ability to extend.
